Former World No. 1 Andy Murray was officially knighted on Thursday by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.
It was announced the Scot would be knighted in December 2016 when Queen Elizabeth II’s New Year’s Honours list was released.
The recognition was given to Murray for his services to tennis and charity. The Brit has also earned an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) medal from HRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, in October 2013 after winning his first Wimbledon crown.
