The 61st Grammys held to major fan fare and media buzz at The Staples Centre, Los Angeles yesterday and naturally, there were more than enough iconic moments to go round. Besides the amazing wins and new records (cc. Cardi B and Childish Gambino), another area that caught our attention was the red carpet fashion.
Our celebrities really came to slay this time, especially with that iconic dress Cardi B wore. It was stunning! Check out the fashion statements below:
Cardi B came to make a statement at the award cremony, in a Vintage Mugler Dress that looked just like she was a budding flower. Quite intuitive, considering her current place in music and the record breaking award she won at the ceremony.
Alright, if Janelle Monae doesn’t make a statement at an awards ceremony, then everyone might as well shut down and go home. The singer cum actress is one singer who never shies away from attention and some controversy, whether it is in her fashion choices or her music videos (cc. PYNK music video). She came ready to slay in Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture.
Host of the event, Alicia Keys was pretty in red. She kept her style simple and effortless, yet mouth-watering in a red floor longth gown, accessorized with a Bulgari necklace, earrings and ring, with little to no makeup, leaving her freckles out to glow.
Lady Gaga dressed like a winner that she knew she was at the 61st annual Grammy Awards. She bagged the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her and Bradley Cooper’s song, Shallow in her blockbuster, A Star is Born and who wouldn’t give her an award with that shimmering silver custom Celine Spring 2019 dress? She topped it off with a pair of Jimmy Choo ‘Max’ sandals.
Tracee Ellis Ross was bold in green from the staples of Ralph & Russo Couture. It was not just the green that stood her out, however, but the embellished serpent around her waist, which put the edginess we have come to know the gorgeous actress for to her look.
Ralph & Russo gave another iconic look to Jennifer Lopez on the red carpet. She looked regal, complete with the hat and make up. She completed the look with a pair of Jimmy Choo heels. This may not be one of the usual sensual, eye-popping, figure hugging outfits we are used to seeing the award winning singer in, but she certainly worked her sexy magic onto this number as well.
Dua Lipa‘s stunning moments were both on the red carpet and in her second outfit as she received her award at the ceremony, but we are more mesmerized by the second outfit. She was dressed in a black and white Atelier Versace gown with gold embellishments, and nothing could have screamed ‘star’ more.
Bold and fearless as ever, Katy Perry came in an eye-catching Balmain Haute Couture gown (if we can call it that). In a sculpted, futuristic-silver bodice combined with the dramatically, bulbous skirt, she definitely had her fill of statement making. And look at that regal pose. This queen cam ready!
Also in Ralph & Russo Spring 2019 collection was ‘Pitch Perfect’ star, Anna Kendrick. She chose the pink themed short dress with cute, feathers, with her petite body giving her a paradoxical sweet, girly, playful look. Sha capped it with a pair of silver Stuart Weitzman sandals.
Kylie Jenner took the bold turn in a pastel pink Balmain pantsuit encrusted with jewels and a pair of heels. We already know she is sexy, so it is quite refreshing to see the beauty mogul step out in an iconic number that gave her an elegant look.
