5 major red flags that your liver may be is not functioning properly

Each and every one of us has a liver. How many of us actually care about it? Are you aware of how essential it is to the body? The majority of us believe that it can be renewed, which allows for misuse. However, did you know that if the damage to the liver is severe, it may take up to three years of proper nutrition to truly rebuild it? Numerous conditions, including cancer, fatty liver, and other exposures, can possibly cause irreparable damage.

On the right side of the body, directly above the gallbladder, is our two-lobed liver. It is our body’s filtration mechanism, much like the oil filter in our car. As a defense mechanism, it filters out a wide range of substances, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, hormones, chemicals, and medications. It serves as our digestive system, dissolving all the lipids, proteins, and carbohydrates we take in. Protein can also be used to make sugar.

But what occurs if our it malfunctions and deteriorates. It will be unable to perform any of its tasks normally. But how can we be certain that our liver is malfunctioning? You can recognize these symptoms to aid you:

You cannot lie on the left side of your bed at night

The liver is located on the right side of the body, just below the slightly left-leaning heart. People with fatty livers find it hard to lie on their left side because the heart is compressed by the swelling. Because your heart can rest on top of your liver, lying on your right side seems to be the most comfortable position.

You sense some fluid circling your abdomen region

You have a malfunctioning liver if you shake your stomach and feel fluid present and moving around. As the liver fails to function properly, it leaks fluids into a sac inside the belly, causing a condition called ascites.

Your right shoulder or neck hurts or feels tight a lot

All the muscles and organs around your swollen liver will be compressed, including your neck and shoulder muscles. Common locations for pain referred from the liver include the shoulder and the next. It might also be brought on by the presence of stones in your gallbladder or bile duct.

You cannot see your feet if you are stiffly standing up and looking down

A firm, stiff potbelly is unmistakably a sign that your liver is in trouble and needs help right away.

You have spots on the back of your hand or a lot of itching

Toxins that are typically filtered out by the liver might recirculate throughout the body if it sustains damage over time, leading to a toxic overload and, ultimately, inflammation. It can cause rashes or spots on the back of your hand or other regions of your body that itch often.
