The Super Falcons’ Asisat Oshoala has been named the 2022 CAF Women’s “Player of the Year.” Thursday’s event in Rabat, Morocco, recognized the 27-year-old as the recipient of the award.
She has surpassed former Falcons striker Perpetua Nkwocha by winning the prize five times in a row. In 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019, Oshoala won the award for the greatest African female football player.
Sadio Mane won the title of 2022 CAF “Player of the Year” in the men’s division, defeating Mohamed Salah and Eduard Mendy in the process. Pape Matar Sarr of Senegal and Tottenham Hotspur received the award for the men’s “Young Player of the Year,” while Evelyn Badu of Ghana took home the prize for the women.
