Lagos is stressful; that we can all attest to. From the constant traffic everywhere to the extreme noise levels. Yes we get it, a lot of people are looking for places to hang out in this city. Places that are secluded and chill. One thing about Lagos though is that there is never a shortage of places to hangout with your friends. To be honest, hangout spots in Lagos are aplenty.

Finding a good place to hang out however is where the problem lies. You see, Lagos restaurants and bars can be overpriced and a lot of time, their services and food is just not worth it. That is why we have taken it upon ourselves to create this list of the best hangout spots in Lagos for you to have a date in, host birthdays in or just have a fun hangout either alone or with friends.

1. Pappies Meatro, Yaba

Pappies Meatro is a grill bar located in Yaba, Lagos. It has a large space that can be used to host hangouts and private events. It is in a secluded environment. Although, it can get crowded on weekends especially. The food is great and affordable and the ambiance is top notch.

2. New Afrika Shrine, Ikeja

The New Fela Shrine is actually also a tourist attraction. It is an open air entertainment centre which is currently managed by Femi Kuti (Fela’s oldest son) and Yeni Anikulapo Kuti. It is a place to hangout, relax and watch the performances. While enjoying the delicacies, guests are also able to enjoy and savour the local delicacies.

3. Lekki Conservation Centre, Lekki

The Lekki COnservation Centre really puts you in the middle of nature, which to be honest is rare in the concrete jungle of Lagos. It takes you far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and offers you a serene, quiet environment that is very relaxing and soothing. The highlight of the centre is the canopy walk which is the longest canopy walk in Africa. The canopy walkway features 6 towers and each of the towers rise 22 ft off the ground. The reserve is home to a plethora of wildlife, including monkeys, tortoises, and rare birds.

4. Moist Beach Club, Victoria Island

The Moist Beach Club offers exclusivity and it is tucked away in Victoria Island. At night however, one sometimes has to make reservations as it gets packed with people looking to also chill and have fun. It operates as a beach restaurant and club and the ambience is immaculate.

5. Terra Kulture, Victoria Island

Terra Kulture is a fashion house, arts museum, and an art gallery. It is especially a nice haven for art lovers and it tells the Nigerian history and story from the pre-colonial era to date. Terra Kulture hosts plays, art exhibitions and book readings. The centre is attached to a restaurant, theater and bookstore. There is no shortage of things to do there.

6. Hard Rock Cafe, Victoria Island

Hard Rock Cafe is located in one of the most expensive places in Lagos. It has a very nice ambience with great food and service.

7. Orchid Bistro Cafe, Ikoyi

Equipped with a clean and minimalist decor, Orchid Bistro has great food and a really cool ambience. It is a gourmet cafe and restaurant that offers exquisite food and drinks.

8. Danfo Bistro, Ikoyi

Danfo Bistro is an upscale restaurant in an upscale neighbourhood. It is a great place to chill and eat with nice aesthetics for pictures and videos. The outdoor sitting area is great for sitting and catching up with friends.
