Black American Xenophobic Twitter Rant: Some Black Americans Are Angry With The Immigration Of Africans Into The United States

It was, without a doubt, one of the most heated Twitter battles in recent memory. The message was apparent during the long hours it lasted: African Americans want Africans to stop coming to their nation and robbing them of all their prospects. We kept an eye on the Twitter Space for the majority of its duration. We couldn’t help but notice some of the more contentious rhetorics spoken by some of the African American hosts and participants.

Many people departed the space furious and disillusioned as a result of the nasty words that were exchanged.

What were the arguments based on?

The topic of discussion was whether immigration benefited African-Americans. It doesn’t, according to the co-hosts. Tariq Nasheed, an American filmmaker and social media commentator, was one among many who hammered home this idea, but in a xenophobic manner.

Tariq and the other Twitter Space co-hosts stated that African immigrants are making it impossible for African Americans to receive the reparations they are entitled to. They claim that African immigrants are not only profiting from resources that could have been utilized to compensate African Americans, but that they are also robbing African Americans of jobs and other opportunities.

The black Americans also brought up the fact that Africans, particularly Nigerians, have a tendency to “arrogantly” dominate anywhere they go. They then return the money back to Africa after “seizing” all of the opportunities and making the majority of the money.

The next debate concerned the American government’s decision to admit African immigrants into the country. Some speakers even suggested that the US government was permitting African immigrants as part of a bigger scheme to deliberately remove and replace “Foundational Black Americans” with Africans.

The Black Americans demanded that all Africans be deported immediately as part of a measure to “secure the tribe,” as they phrased it. They argue that by doing so, African Americans will be able to receive their reparations and even have enough opportunity to go around.

Bottom Line

It was evident by the end of the Twitter Space that many Black Americans are upset with the influx of African immigrants. The hashtag #SecureTheTribe was trending on Twitter at the time of reporting this post, thanks to tweets from supporters and critics of the cause.

However, several Africans have expressed amazement, indignation, and disappointment in response to the debate.
