HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR LUXURY ITEMS

Dorothy Parker once said “Take care of the luxuries, and the necessities will take care of themselves”. Luxuries are highly desirable items that should be taken care of properly. Due to research made, it was discovered that the higher your income the higher the level of luxury items you would want to get. Making sure our luxurious items are always catered for and looked after, should be our top priority.

Luxurious goods are made to look attractive due to the fact that they are made from the best materials which are also made by the best hands, and because of this, luxury is known for its  historical staple amongst the rich. Now, more people are attaining this level of luxury and getting a few luxurious items for themselves not to measure class with the rich folks but to feel good about themselves.

So here are some tips recommended for you to preserve your items and maximize their usage.

1. PROPER STORAGE

We all believe that luxurious items can stand the test of time due to their high prices, but the fact remains that, without proper care of an item whether luxurious or not, it will depreciate. So, to avoid depreciation on your bags, always remember to wrap the chain traps before putting it into the bag to avoid leather marks. Try filling your bags with soft items like foams or sweaters to maintain the shape of the bags. Note, never use newspaper or old magazines to fill your bags because the ink can transfer to the lining of the bag.

2. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO ROTATE

Rotations have been proven to be the best way to preserve luxury items. Due to the fact that they are not used often, it reduces wear and tear e.g  leather shoes, leather bags and others. For clothes, the lack of constant wearing and washing, helps to preserve the appearance and discoloration.  These simple methods will further help you maximize usage of your luxury items.

3. AVOID DUST FILLED SPACES

No one would like to see their highly expensive products being destroyed by dust. So by allowing your items some clean dust free space, helps preserve the quality. Be sure to always be mindful of the sun rays. In some products, too much sunlight causes discoloration and you wouldn’t want this happening to your items.

4. PROPER INSPECTION

It’s advisable to properly and regularly inspect these items from time to time. The places you keep them must be dust free at all times, spray the wood with paint to avoid the infestation of termites. There are many factors to consider but you can only provide a solution if you keep inspecting them regularly.

5. DUSTBAGS

Use dust protective bags when traveling with items that are prone to dust. Due to the distance covered when traveling, it’s best you make use of them so as to avoid damage. These bags have been proven to be a good way to maintain the looks of items in the long run.
