Kanye West has been on a rant on Instagram, calling out both brands that he works with, for copying his old designs without his knowledge, having meetings behind his back, celebrating Yeezy day without his consent, and cancelling photoshoots with his kids. Kanye West who just signed a 10 year contract with GAP is currently threatening to walk away from the brand, claiming his partnership with the brand isn’t a real collaboration.
Yeezy and GAP who had just released their collaboration which went viral on Twitter, sending the media into a frenzy after customers were seen trying to ravage through clothes in large trash bags at the retail store to shop for the collection and find their sizes. Many were appalled and called the new process of shopping at the retail stores outrageous and disgusting.
In a now deleted video on Instagram, Kanye West was seen in a meeting with the GAP team saying, “This is Sparta. This is not celebrity marketing. This is not a collaboration. This is a life mission,”
“You have to really give me the position to be Ye and do what I’m thinking … or I’m gonna quit.” Kanye claimed the brand hadn’t given him 100% creative freedom, and he also called out GAP for ending the pre-order of his famous blue jacket.
After his rant on Instagram, he promised fans/customers to open Yeezy stores worldwide, he proceeded to ask fans with a 10 year experience in sales to come change the world with him. Fans quickly jumped on the opportunity to work with Kanye, as he shared screenshots of proposals from multiple fans.
