Mason Greenwood has been suspended by Manchester United after he was detained on accusations of rape and assault

Mason Greenwood has been accused of abusing a lady, and Manchester United has announced that he will not train or play matches “until further notice.”

On Sunday morning, the allegations, which included video, images, and a voice note purporting to be a discussion between Greenwood and the lady, were posted on Instagram.

They’ve been removed since then.

Manchester United also stated that they “absolutely not condone any form of violence.”

“We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media,” Manchester United said in a statement. We will not make any additional statements until the facts are known.

“Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”

“Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice,” Manchester United added afterwards.

Greenwood, a 20-year-old Bradford native, debuted for the club in 2019 and has since made 129 appearances.

“We are aware of photographs and videos circulating on social media,” stated Greater Manchester Police.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the entire circumstances,” the force added.
