Spiderman: No Way Home Reviews

The reason Spiderman is perhaps the most beloved Marvel cinematic universe (MCU) hero, as seen by not one, not two, but three movie sequels, has always been his optimistic, uncorrupted worldview as a youngster. As well as the relatable blunders, naivete, and teen turmoil he goes through on a regular basis.

Tobey McGuire embodied this in the original series. While Andrew Garfield gave the role his own unique spin. Tom Holland, on the other hand, has taken the web-slinger to a new level (or should I say universe) with a breathtaking performance in No Way Home, which is not only a fantastic MCU film but also terrific cinema.

After Mysterio reveals his true identity to the world, Peter Parker panics, as shown in the trailer. Doctor Strange is approached to cast a spell to undo the fame. But the Sorcerer Supreme’s attempt to bend the multiversal divides, bringing all sorts of entities from other realms into the MCU-verse, fails.

Despite the massive source material and astronomic fan expectations they were given to manage, director Jon Watts and writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers never lost focus on the hilarious banter between Peter, MJ, and Ned. Which continues to be the bedrock of the franchise.

Enter Alfred Molina as Dock Ock, Willem Defoe as the Green Goblin, and a slew of other Spider-Verse villains descending on New York to flip Peter Parker’s world on its head. The seasoned thespian delivers a jaw-dropping performance as the cult antagonist, becoming the perfect counterweight to Holland’s compelling lead performance. Dafoe is the greatest living performer not to win an Oscar. The highly experienced thespian delivers a jaw-dropping performance as the iconic antagonist, becoming the ideal counterbalance to Holland’s compelling lead performance.

Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Marisa Tomei give heartfelt performances that helped to elevate the film. The movie also contains some of the most innovative and cutting-edge CGI work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Surprise cameos and guest appearances provide laugh-out-loud moments in the theater. This is one film you won’t want to miss seeing on the big screen.

BOTTOM LINE

No Way Home is, in the end, a fitting conclusion to the best Spiderman trilogy ever filmed. The villains continue to distinguish the high-brow MCU films from the rest. While Tony Leung in Shang Chi and Willem Dafoe in No Way Home sparkled and captured spectators, the Black Widow and Eternals failed to do so due to a lack of well-written, compelling opponents.
