STYLE EVOLUTION (BURNA BOY)

At some point every artist has had to change their sound, style of music or something particular about the way they’re perceived by the public, and style is not an exception.

These artists have been able to showcase their musical talents over the years, while being as stylish as they could possibly be. Appearance is everything in the entertainment industry and show business in general. Some artistes have been able to evolve their style in a way that is still very appealing to the public till date.

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as BURNA BOY is one of the fashion beacons in the music industry. We’ve been obsessed with his music and fashion ever since his breakout. His style screams Super Star and he has seemingly morphed into that version of himself that is not very attainable.

Burna boy has never been one to follow trends or copy style he has always forged his own path in fashion and also in music. ” I always like to come up with my own little twist” , citing Burna boy’s statement in an interview about his style, proving that Burna Boy has always been unique with everything that he does.

Burna boy expresses art through his music and fashion as every creative should. But Burna boy’s style hasn’t been the same all these years so we’re taking you back to the early fashion days of the international superstar.

Burna’s early style featured a lot of plain simple looks, which were the go-to looks at the beginning of his career  and not many would say his style was exciting back then.

But over the years Burna boy’s style has gradually evolved into what we call an eccentric style that makes him stand out globally. He plays around with more colours, prints and patterns.

Burna boy isn’t scared of criticism as he has always done as he pleases. Due to Burna’s fashion excellence he has caught the eye of international fashion brands like Armani, Yohji Yamamoto, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin and others.

He has also been featured in high end fashion magazines like vogue, Gq and other prominent fashion magazines. In 2020 Burna Boy collaborated with BoohooMan, a global clothing retail brand in Manchester. They both collaborated and put out a capsule collection that featured 120 designs with a custom printed “B” to stand for Burna boy.

A style like Burna boy’s doesn’t come from following the rules.

Burna boy is not done serving looks that are being pulled off confidently and effortlessly. In a few years we’ll look back at these fire looks as blasts from the past, because Burna boy is ever evolving with fashion.
