TOP 10 COUNTRIES WITH THE MOST BILLIONAIRES

There is for sure no doubt that the top guns in societies like the U.S and China would play a leading role in having the most billionaires in their countries. In recent times, a lot of countries have gotten  their first billionaire or an increase in the stat of billionaires who happen to come from their country. 

For instance, countries like Barbados, Bulgaria and many more got their first ever billionaires listed in their county according to the updated Forbes list of billionaires, also the likes of India got into top three and Italy’s entry into the top 10 as of the year 2021. 

Forbes has narrowed down the list of billionaires in the year 2022 to a total of 2,668 billionaires, going down 329 people from the list of last year’s billionaires which had a total of 2,755 people. A total number of 236 newcomers were added to this list, some of which belong to the list of countries we are about to put out.

Here are the top 10 countries with the most billionaires in the world. 

1. United States

With a total of 724 billionaires currently in the U.S, it is ranked number one on the list. Elon musk, a South African-Canadian-American man who happens to be the richest man in the world, with a net worth of over $250 billion is also a citizen of the U.S. He also owns the famous Tesla and SpaceX project.

2. China

China has  a total of 698 billionaires moving up a couple of numbers prior to their previous stat with 626 billionaires. With the collective fortunes of all the billionaires net worth in china, it sums up to 2.5 trillion. Currently, Zahong ShanShan, owner of a beverage firm in which he owns up to 84% share, is the richest person in China with a net worth of $66.9 billion.

3.India 

India has up to 140 billionaires presently in their country, making them the 3rd country with the most billionaires. In India, Mukesh Ambanias is the richest person, with a net worth of $97.7 billion. He owns Reliance Industries limited.

4. Germany

Holding up the place as the 4th country with the highest billionaires in Germany, with a total of 136 billionaires among which are Breate Heister and Karl Albrecht Jr, all heirs to the Aldi empire. They are currently the richest in Germany with a total net worth of $43.4 billion. 

5. Russia

Russia fills the 5th spot with a total of 117 billionaires with Valdimir Potanin, the chairman of the Russian Metal making company, as the richest man with a sum of $19.7 billion.

6. Hong Kong

In the 6th spot we have Hong Kong, with a total of 71 billionaires. Li Ka- Shing currently holds the spot of the richest man in Hong Kong with a net worth of $36 billion.

7. Brazil

Brazil holds the 7th spot with a total of 65 billionaires in the country. Jorge Paulo Le Mann is the richest man in Brazil with a net worth of over $16.8 billion. He is a manager and investor who controls a share of Anheuser Busch. 

8. Canada

Canada has a total of 64 billionaires present in the country, this puts them on the number 8 spot on the list. The David Thomson’s family currently hold the spot of the richest in Canada with a net worth of $50.2 billion.

9. United Kingdom

At the 9th position on our list is the UK, with a total of 56 billionaires. Presently in the UK, Sir James Ratcliffe holds the rank of the richest person in the UK with a total sum of $16.1 billion. He ventured into various companies and investments through his very own Ineos Chemical group where it’s believed he acquired his wealth 

10. Italy

Italy holds the last spot at number 10 with a total of 51 billionaires. Giovanni Ferro, leading chairman of the Nutella chocolate Enterprise amongst other things, is worth over $35.6 billion.
