The top 6 best albums of 2021 is here, wrapping up what we think was seriously a killer year for music. 2021 has been a crazy year with a lot of musical projects being dropped by artistes from albums to singles. Nigerian artistes got to prove yet again that they are the poster children for Afro music not just in Africa, but all around the world. Even with hiw crazy the year has been, the following Nigerian albums made it worthwhile for us. We love them all, and really, very little separates any of them.
1. Somewhere Between Music And Magic – Joeboy
Released in February 4, 2021, with a run time of 36 minutes and 14 Songs. “Working on this project was life-changing — I met a version of myself I never knew before,” JOEBOY says of the project, recorded over the last year with a team of producers including such notables as Dëra, BeatsbyKO, Killertunes and E Kelly.
2. Ruger- Pandemic (EP)
Released in 2021, Pandemic houses 6 solid tracks, with no features, just Ruger all the way. This is his first Body of work since going professional, the EP has two music genres Afropop and Dancehall.
3. Olamide- Uy Scuti
The album which is a follow up to Olamide’s 10th studio album, ‘Carpe Diem‘ is a classic album. With UY Scuti, Nigerian rapper Olamide continues his evolutionary cycle on his eleventh studio album. A follow-up to 2020’s Afrobeats-tinged Carpe Diem, this project sees him set comfortable flows over roots reggae, R&B, Afrobeats and pop soundscapes.
4. Arya Starr- 19 & Dangerous
Released in August 6, 2021. Runtime of 33 minutes and 11 Songs. After an impressive, self-titled 2021 EP that placed her among the vanguard of rising Nigerian pop stars, Ayra Starr delivers her official debut album. Exploring relationships, betrayal and self-assurance on 19 & Dangerous, the artist chronicles the transition from adolescence to adulthood.
5. Lojay & Sarz- Lv N Attn
One of the Nigerian talented singers, Lojay has made an appearance on the scene with the tune “LV N ATTN” alongside Wizkid and Sarz, the Nigerian singer and producer. This song has to be a successful one this time. It was made officially known in the year, 2021 which is now on the trend in social media.
6. Sex Over Love- Blaqbonez
Chocolate city signed rapper, BlaqBonez has released his anticipated debut album labelled “Sex Over Love“. The released Album project contains fourteen (14) tracks which features Laycon, Joeboy, Nasty C, Tiwa Savage, Bad Boy Timz, AQ, 1da Banton, PsychoYP, Buju and Amaarae.
