Several apps allow you to scan paper documents with your phone’s camera, but few are as smooth and powerful as CamScanner. Even if your phone’s camera isn’t the best, it can crop and enhance photographs in seconds, leaving you with a digital document that’s aligned and easy to read. You can combine documents, put notes on top, and then distribute the result as a PDF or JPG.

You can upgrade to a premium account for $5 per month on top of this basic version. CamScanner now converts photos into digital text that you can search on your phone or through the app’s online interface.
