VABBING: THE TIK TOK TREND THAT REQUIRES VAGINAL FLUID TO ATTRACT MEN

Vagina and Dabbing sums up the word, Vabbing. This is a new Tik Tok trend that has women wearing their vaginal juice as perfumes with the intention of attracting more men. This comes from the theory that Vaginal fluid releases pheromones which is a form of chemo signal that people of the male gender find attractive.

This new trend involves sticking the fingers up the private area and dabbing the vaginal fluid in places they would normally wear perfumes, so around the neck, wrists and behind the ears. Tik Tok is known for blowing up wild trends, but is this a little too extreme?

Many have taken to their Tik Tok pages to confirm the theory, while some have discredited the theory. Influencer and Fashion Writer, Mandy Lee with Tik Tok username (@oldloserinbrooklyn) swears by this trick as she kick started this trend on Tik Tok some weeks ago which has since gathered over 1.5 million views.

She went on to popularize the theory in the video saying,  “I swear if you vab you will attract people, like a date, a one night stand. Or you’ll just get free drinks all night,” she says in the TikTok.

“Elle Woods (the protagonist from the 2001 Legally Blonde Novel and Film) should have been teaching vabbing instead of the bend and snap – it’s more effective.”

While people’s reactions ranged from disgusted to obsessed, people who have engaged in this action flooded the comments section to swear by this trick for clubbing, going on dates, and one mentioned job interviews.

Certified Sexologist Shannon Boodman who speaks in the media about intimacy also confirmed that the Vabbing trend on TikTok isn’t based on actual science, stating “There is no conclusive advice on the impact of vabbing.”

“The fun is when it’s something that you do because you believe it will make you feel more confident,”

In an interview with The Cut, OBGYN and author of The Vagina Bible, Jen Gunter stated “While animals and insects have a gland that produces pheromones (the chemical that transfers information) humans have a nearly useless vomeronasal organ, and therefore Vabbing won’t work.”

Although this theory hasn’t been scientifically proven, responses on the matter show that many women are into Vabbing or most would definitely want to try it out.
