The annual Brit awards took place on the 8th of February 2022 at the usual venue of the award ceremony, O2 arena in London. The show was hosted by Mo Gilligan, which was his very first time hosting the Brit awards. The show featured amazing performances from Ed Sheeran, Adele, Sam Fender, Dave , Anne Marie and others. There were also pre recorded performances from The Weeknd, Coldplay and Elton John.
New award categories were added to the list which allowed fans to vote via TikTok, the new categories featured Pop/R’N’B act, Hop/Rap act, Dance act and Alternative/Rock act.
Adele dominated the ceremony last night as she bagged the most Brit awards, she took home awards for Artist of the year, Mastercard album of the year and Song of the year. Fellow Brit singer Ed Sheeran, took home the songwriter of the year award.
