6 Essential Fashion Assessories Every Man Should Have

Let’s face, it we all kind of like to dress to feel a little bit different, special, unique, show our personality. One way to really make an outfit your own is with your choice of accessories. We will be talking about 6 essential accessories that we believe deserve a place in any man’s wardrobe.

One of the worst things that happens when you’re getting ready to go out is trying on the outfit and finding out that it sucks. Like it’s missing something. The outfit looks alright but nothing special about it, nothing worth talking about it. What you are missing are the right accessories.

Accessories, an amazing way to add dimension to your style. There are accessories for every scenario and situation.

1. Watches

We are yet to meet a man who doesn’t look great in a watch. The watch world is vast and filled with many different styles and designs. It’s just about finding that right timepiece that fits your aesthetic and naturally complements your style. The thing is watches are also by far the most socially accepted form of jewelry for men. So if you’re used to dressing a little bit more classic or conservatively, this is definitely your easiest way to step into accessories.

The first step in finding a good watch for you is to ask yourself what metals you most often wear when it comes to your other jewelry. For instance, your belt buckles maybe even your glasses. Do you most often wear silver or gold? Most watches will have some form of metal on them whether it’s the whole bracelet or just the case. It is a good idea to go for whichever metal you most often wear.

2. Bracelets

When it comes to bracelets, we definitely think that less is more. We love a simple cuff or chain worn on the opposite side of your watch. People do tend to prefer metal bracelets as they’re far less risky than say a beaded bracelet for example which can very quickly look tacky more often than not. If you feel like you’re ready to move on past the beaded bracelets, try a cuff or chain bracelet when selecting, or even a leather one.

3. Necklaces

With jewelry as a whole building a strong presence in men’s fashion in recent years, necklaces have arguably been one of the top contenders for men wanting to accessorize and adorn their outfits. When choosing your first necklace, you can’t go wrong with either a simple chain on its own or one with a pendant. Nothing too chunky unless you want to make a statement, which is also fine. But of course if it’s your first necklace, you should to go with something a little more subtle. Something that’s easy to wear and versatile.

You could choose a pendant that has some symbol or meaning for you because oftentimes men end up wearing that one necklace literally all the time. You can’t go wrong with something simple and understated in the middle of your choice. Then, you can advance to something a little bolder, more of a statement piece with your second or third necklaces.

4. Rings

Rings are just as much for men as they are for women. There’s nothing wrong with spicing up your looks with a little silver a little gold on your fingers. There are a lot of different styles and designs of rings. We know it can feel a little overwhelming at first, we would suggest looking at many different pictures preferably showing the person’s outfit as a whole as well as the rings.

That way you can kind of get a sense of your preference of aesthetic. Are you going for more of a rocker look or something classic and formal to complement a more conservative suit and tie kind of outfit or maybe something more edgy, almost mafioso-like or perhaps a more minimal aesthetic but with an elevated feel. Once you start narrowing it down, you can kind of get a feel for the shape size and design that you’re looking for.

However, whatever you go, the key to a cohesive look is to not go overboard with the jewelry and keep it balanced between the two hands. So if you’re just going for a single ring, wear it on the hand opposite to your watch along with a thin bracelet to complement it. That way, it balances out the larger space that the watch is taking on the opposite wrist or if you’re going for two or three rings, split them between the two hands.

5. Leather belts

Belts are definitely a staple accessory for men. It can be great to emphasize your waistline when tucking in your shirt and to create a contrast when you want to clearly delineate your top and bottom half, for example when wearing a monochromatic outfit.

6. Sunglasses and Specs

Glasses are one of those things that any guy can incorporate and it instantly looks amazing. Just because you’re lucky and you have perfect vision doesn’t mean you can’t rock them. Wearing the right frames can make you look mysterious, smart and elegant. It all depends on what you’re trying to go for. Sunglasses can also change the vibe of an outfit completely and they protect your eyes from aging and wrinkles while also styling you.
