The Super Eagles have qualified for the next round of of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Samuel Eto’o Fils, President of the Cameroonian Football Federation commended them on the achievement of this new feat.
After winning Group D, the Super Eagles qualified for the knockout stages of the ongoing AFCON tournament in Cameroon.
To win the group, the Nigerian representative defeated Egypt with a lone goal and Sudan 3-1.
Goals from Samuel Chukwueze, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Moses Simon gave the three-time winners a three-goal lead over the Sudanese.
Sudan did pull one back, but it was only a consolation goal.
In response to the Super Eagles’ qualification, Eto’o said on his verified Twitter account: “Well done Super Eagles Flag of Nigeria for securing your second victory and moving on to the knockout stage #AFCON2021 @CAF_Online”
