4 Amazing Nigerian Male Stylists to watch out for

For many celebrities and fashionistas, there’s a lot that goes into looking really good – constantly! This is actually a lot of work, and way more work than most people (especially people not in fashion) know. From picking the right clothes that complement your physique, to choosing the right hairstyle, wearing the right make-up, selecting the right shoes, and knowing the accessories that best fit a look and where to get them from, all for the right occasion, styling is now, yes mum, yes dad, a full time job!

With busy schedules consisting of press tours, interviews, photoshoots, filming, etc, many A-listers simply cannot research and source their own outfits to ‘kill it’ as much as they’d want to keep up with their image, by themselves. Instead, that job comes down to their fashion stylists who spend months sitting on the FROWs of the most in-demand fashion house shows, researching, sourcing outfits and having an encyclopaedia-like knowledge of trends.

Sure we know a few of them in Nigeria, who have set the pace, broken boundaries, and basically shown that styling is an actual career. Names like Swanky Jerry, Angelic touch styling, Daniel Obasi, Style Infidel, etc, would come to mind.

For this piece, we will take a look at 4 Nigerian male stylists to watch out for. These guys have all shown great potential to become household names. These guys have amazing personal styles, have shown loads of commitment, and have let their works speak for them so far. Here we go…

MAGPAYNE

4 Nigerian male stylists to look out for

Magpayne has risen from Lagos Fashion Week intern to A-list celebrity stylist. With six years in the fashion and styling scene, it’s no wonder he’s never short on creativity and style.

Known for his pastel colour choices and hip-urban fashion aesthetics as well as his immersive and entertaining fashion Inspo TikTok videos, Magpayne is responsible for some of your favorite celebrities’ best looks on and off set, from OMAH LAY, D’banj, SKIIBII to PATORANKING, KISS DANIEL, CHEEKCHIZZY amongst others. This goes further to prove that Magpayne is indeed a versatile creative.
When Magpayne isn’t styling , he’s curating new pieces for his eponymous Fashion brand and we certainly love to see it. We can’t wait to see where he goes from here.

EICHIE MOSES

With a client list already featuring heavy weights like 2BABA, TENI, ZLATAN, NAIRA MARLEY, LARRY GAGA, DAVIDO amongst others, one can see why we pick him out as one of the next big things in fashion styling.

The Lagos based stylist is responsible for many of the stand-out celebrity looks of the last 18 months, having a mentor like Korey Kaheel, it’s evident that Moses’s style embodies luxury and colour.

On people he looks forward to working with he had this to say, “I always aim high and go for excellence”. Hence it doesn’t come as a surprise that he is already working towards bagging more international gigs and adding more international names to his client list.

BAMIDELE

When he isn’t on clinic duties, Bamidele is either styling or reeling out fire fashion contents on Instagram.

Bamidele, also known as SALTY, is redefining the fashion and styling scene, with his fusion of alté and eclectic streetwear, creating a very peculiar Fashion aesthetic.

Known for selling shoes and clothing items back in his school days, Bamidele was the go-to guy among his peers when it came to giving fashion ideas and styling.

“I used to be known as the wingman among the best dressed people so a lot of my guys came around for some advice on their wardrobes and clothes to events, and that’s basically how image consultation and styling began for me“.

Among Bamidele’s clientele is GOOD GIRL LA, DJ VANINI and IKAYH.

OZIC

Port-harcourt’s very own fashion influencer and stylist, OZIC, is gradually making a name for himself in the Nigerian fashion scene. With his personal style versatility, OZIC can switch it up from a classy corporate fit to a really hip streetwear look and still finesse both looks.

OZIC can be referred to as an all-rounder when it comes to fashion. Colours, patterns, streetwear, and class would characterise a typical Ozic look. Despite being based in Port Harcourt, he never hesitates to fly down to Lagos and other locations where his magic might be needed. if you’re looking for fashion and styling inspiration, @wear.it.like.ozic is your go-to page.
