5 Best Style Tips For Dad Bods Or Chubby Guys

Let’s have some real talk. Most of us out here, 99% of us don’t have a perfect body. We all have some flaws and for a lot of guys, its the belly and specifically for a lot of guys have what might be referred to as a dad bod. A dad bod is a combination of a guy who can’t resist picking up two things; one the weights. You work out, you’ve got a little bit of muscle but you also love picking up that fork and you also have a bit of a belly. This goes for anybody that is chubby in general. Remember almost all of these tips will work just as well for anybody that’s struggling with the Battle of the Bulge. Now the main thing you want to pay attention to when it comes to these tips is you want to make sure you create balance and proportion.

1. Wear suit jackets and blazers

A suit jacket or blazer emphasizes your shoulders and makes you appear to have a narrower waist than you actually do. It gives you a desirable V-taper, plus dressing up makes you look good anyway.

2. Wear a nice tie or pocket square

You need to wear ones that stand out. The reason is that this brings the person’s eye upwards and makes them look at your chest. It is always a great distraction if you want to try to get people to stop looking at that belly.

3. As often as possible wear a shirt untucked with a round head

The reason why, this is a good way to cover up that belly. When you have the shirt tucked in and cinched in with the belt, it actually accentuates your belly. The belt and the tucking brings the eye to the problem area. But an important key here is when wearing an untucked shirt, it has to be the right length. You want to fall about mid crotches so but wearing an untucked shirt with a rounded hem is a great way to disguise that belly.

4. Single Breasted Jackets

When you’re fighting that belly and your belly feels a little bigger than it might be, other times we would suggest you stay away from the double-breasted jackets and one or single-breasted jackets. The reason why is that a double-breasted jacket kind of focuses on your midsection a little bit more.

5. Fit is especially King

This goes for any guy, but more so when you’re fighting the Battle of the Bulge, a lot of times when you buy clothes they’re not going to fit great off the rack. If they don’t fit well, they’re going to accentuate your weak points. So when you have that dad bod or you’re fighting that chubby belly, a tailor is even more important. Get those clothes nipped and tucked in the right areas and you’ll look even better and more stylish despite that belly.
