Christian Eriksen scores in friendly between Manchester United and Wrexham

At Manchester United, Christian Eriksen has gotten right to work. The Danish midfielder opened the scoring for United in the continuing friendly match between Wrexham behind closed doors, which was tied at 1-1.

Rob Ryans (Wrexham AFC Podcast) tweeted:

“Eriksen, Martinez and Varane were involved in that first half and the Danish midfielder has scored United’s goal Decent run-out for the two sides”

As United continue to get ready for the new season, Lisandro Martinez also made his debut in a Red shirt.

Eriksen, another player with strong technical ability, will add depth to the midfield. He possesses all the qualities necessary to succeed under the Dutchman because Erik ten Hag’s style of play places a premium on sound basics.

The 30-year-old was introduced as a Red Devil yesterday and delivered an encouraging interview in which he explained his decision to join United. Ten Hag, he said, had a significant influence on his choice, and he is here to “play football.”

Frenkie de Jong is reportedly holding off on making a definitive choice while Manchester United continues to explore for ways to strengthen their midfield. The team is also searching for offensive players, with Ajax’s Antony being one of Ten Hag’s top priorities.
