Kanye West posts “Skete Davidson dead” after breakup with Kim Kardashian

Ye appears to have replied to rumors that Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have broken up their well-publicized romance with a photoshopped front-page New York Times piece. Fans will notice that the headline reads “SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT AGE 28” and makes reference to Ye’s formerly popular nickname for Pete.

The since-deleted Instagram photo also made mention of Kid Cudi’s most recent Rolling Loud Miami performance, albeit in much smaller font. As was previously reported, Cudi took Ye’s spot on the roster when the latter canceled due to “circumstances outside of our control,” as the festival’s organizers put it at the time.

“Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers,” the text reads.

While it will probably be assumed that this is a continuation of Ye’s ongoing public campaign against Pete, who can now be seen in this month’s A24 slasher Bodies Bodies Bodies, it is also possible to interpret this as the culmination of the greater Skete Davidson era. To put it another way, it’s possible that the fake Times front-page picture was created to draw attention to the fact that the nickname and all of its associated components, which have featured an animated Skete head among other things, have been retired.

In any case, it’s important to mention that Ye hasn’t been particularly active lately (at least directly) on social media. Donda 2, which was first made available via Stem Player back in February in a work-in-progress version, has been the subject of growing rumors in the interim.

The rumored breakup between Kim and Pete was first reported on Friday by a number of sites, some of whom cited reports from E! News and People. The second season of Hulu’s The Kardashians, which is essentially a redesign of the family’s former reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians for the year 2022, is expected to include Pete, though.
