NICKI MINAJ MAKES BILLBOARD CHART HISTORY AS FIRST FEMALE RAPPER TO DEBUT AT “NO.1” SINCE LAURYN HILL ON BILLBOARD 100

Nicki Minaj and her barbs have been celebrating the huge success of her recent single “Super Freaky Girl” as the new infectious single topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts, making this Nicki Minaj’s solo No.1, and also her solo debut No.1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

This is the first hip-hop solo single to debut at No.1 on the charts by a female act, since Lauryn Hill’s Doo Wop (That Thing) in 1998. This will also join Nicki’s previous No.1 milestones on the chart as she also made an appearance at the No.1 spot in 2020 with fellow rapper, 6ix9ine, on the hit song “Trollz” and again with female rapper, Doja Cat, on “Say So.”

According to Luminate “Super Freaky Girl,” released on Young Money/Cash Money/Republic Records, tallied 21.1 million streams, 4.6 million radio airplay audience impressions and 89,000 downloads sold in its first week (Aug. 12-18), which is the most numbers by any song this year.

After the news broke, Nicki Minaj reached out to her fans in a sweet caption on Instagram saying, . “You did it, barbz. You did it. I love you so much. Like so so SO much. Thank you,” while posting a picture of her achievement.
