Romelu Lukaku set to move to Inter Milan on loan

Romelu Lukaku has finalized his transfer from Chelsea to Inter Milan, rejoining the team where he experienced a goal-scoring streak that resulted in a Serie A championship.

Following the inability of those Frank Lampard brought in to lead Chelsea’s attack to produce goals, Lukaku’s return to Chelsea was meant to be the missing piece. In that sense, the Belgian was unsuccessful, scoring just eight (8) goals in more than twenty Premier League outings.

According to reports, Inter will sign the striker for a $8 million loan fee plus add-ons with no buy option or obligation clause.

Despite only being halfway through the season, Lukaku told Sky in Italy that he hoped in his heart to return to Inter one day. “I really hope in the depths of my heart to return to Inter, not at the end of my career, but at a still good level to hopefully win more,” he said. Chelsea paid Inter £97.5 million to sign Lukaku last summer.

A medical exam is required before the move.
