KANYE WEST DEFENDS HIS RECENT “HOMELESS INSPO AESTHETICS” AND SELLING CLOTHES OUT OF TRASH BAGS

As seen on social media, the New Yeezy x GAP clothing collection being sold out of trash bags in Yeezy stores and other outlets, has caused a huge stir on social media, and Kanye West fans couldn’t help but question why the clothes had to be sold out of “construction trash bags.”

In a now deleted post on Instagram, Kanye West went on to shed more light on the inspiration behind the collection saying “Look to the children… Look to the homeless… As the biggest inspiration for all design.”

In a recent sit down with Fox News correspondent Eric Shawn, Kanye West had some time to clarify and defend his reason for the odd fashion action. He said, “I’m an innovator, and I’m not here to sit up and apologize about my ideas,” West said in the interview clip. “This is not a joke, this is not a game, this is not just some celebrity collaboration. This is my life. I’m fighting for a position to be able to change clothing and bring the best design to the people.”

He also revealed “My idea is to create a type of wardrobe where you can get dressed in the dark, so it is one less thing to think about. I’ve told people lots of times that I am inspired by Henry Ford, I am inspired by Steve Jobs, I am inspired by Donald Judd. Artists have simplified things for a living, for a happier life. The process is actually simpler because every time you take it off a hanger, then a sales representative has to put it back on a hanger or has to fold it perfectly for you to think that it has value. Why do we place value on things, just because it’s hanging up or just because it is in a traditional way? This is a non-traditional approach.”
