Olamide, one of Nigeria’s most well-known rappers, just announced that he is about to release his last album. He says that this will be his final foray into the music industry, and that he wants to go out with a bang.
While some of his fans are disappointed, others are excited to see what kind of music he’ll come up with for his farewell album which he promised would be his best ever. It could also mean exciting things are on the horizon for Nigerian music.
Whatever the case, Olamide is leaving behind a formidable legacy in Nigerian hip-hop. We’ll just have to see what comes next from him.
After 9 studio albums and 2 EPs, we can all agree his talent is undeniable, and Olamide’s contribution to the music industry has been invaluable. A masterful singer-songwriter with an exceptional gift for composition who captures both modernity & traditionalism in his sounds; he has continually inspired us with each new album release, only a few ever get to the peaks obtained by him.
When it comes to music, there is no such thing as retirement. Olamide has promised that his last album would be the best we’ve ever heard from him and despite being unsuitable he did say this will not stop him from making cameo appearances on singles once in awhile
The album will be titled “Unruly” but we still don’t have a confirmed release date. Stay tuned.
