How To Live Your Best Life This New Year

A new year has only just begun and already it is filled with ever changing variants, climate events, and politics.  We are worn out by the unknowns ahead.  Finding the motivation to live our best lives hardly seems attainable or even worth it in a world that seems to be spinning out of control.

Don’t let this bleak point of view become your story.  In fact your story should be leading you to live your best life ever. You are in charge of your life and have control over what happens to you no matter what is going on in the world right now.  As Joe Lewis once said, “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”  Now is the time to stop dwelling on things you cannot change and start focusing on you. This is your year to start doing life right.

Stop Wasting Your Time

For most of us, the forty-hour workweek vanished decades ago, with many of us working long hours well into the evenings and weekends. According to a recent survey, company leaders and executives waste about 22 hours every week on average. The desire to do other things while working is strong, and far too many individuals fall prey to the internet’s numerous attractions. Consider your own actions on the job for a moment.

How frequently do you find yourself watching a video provided to you by a friend or discussing the outcomes of last night’s game with coworkers? Are you a procrastinator who puts off deadlines until the last possible moment? Wasted time adds to the stress of an already hectic day.

This simply adds to your stress levels, which can have a negative impact on your health. What are some activities you may avoid doing that are a waste of time? Stop squandering your valuable time. They add up to a lot of wasted time. You’ll soon discover that you have more time at the end of the day to do the tasks you’ve been putting off.

Be the best version of yourself

You are aware of your advantages and disadvantages. It’s important to play to your strengths and stay away from circumstances when your flaws are exposed. Do you feel uneasy in a huge group setting? Don’t feel obligated to accept every party invitation just because it’s customary.

In smaller, more intimate settings, you know you connect better. If the purpose of a huge party is to connect with clients, make sure to invite them to meet with you personally so that your abilities may show. You are unique; no one else is like you. You already know what you like to eat, how to dress, and how to unwind. Do a self-evaluation, play to your strengths, and let yourself shine since you know yourself better than anybody else.

Journaling for the Purpose of Self-Discovery

Writing in a journal is one of the most time-honored methods for self-discovery. Journaling helps you to reflect on your day, the mistakes you made, the minor wins you achieved, the discussions you had, the opportunities you missed, and, most significantly, the lessons you learned about yourself. After a long day, keeping a notebook is a great way to unwind. When you make journaling a daily practice, you’ll find it to be both calming and enlightening.

You Should Give Of Yourself

You’ve always been told that it’s better to give than to get. Now there is scientific evidence to back this up. Several studies have shown that donating to others causes endorphins to be released throughout the brain, making you feel happy all over. It could be a time gift or a monetary contribution to your chosen organization.

It can also include giving meaningful gifts to family and friends, such as hand-picked birthday greeting cards or presents that demonstrate thoughtful consideration for the receiver. When you give of yourself, you develop stronger, more meaningful bonds with people who will reciprocate.

Take care of your physical health

If you haven’t had a comprehensive physical in a while, now is the time to take care of yourself. This will serve as your starting point for determining the finest ways to care for your body. If your results are perfect, that’s terrific; keep doing what you’re doing. Don’t be concerned if something is wrong.

The purpose of a physical exam is to find out what’s wrong early on and take action. Most of us can probably do something to better our bodies, whether it’s a diet modification or more exercise. Take care of your body because it will be with you for the rest of your life.

Live in the Present

You only have one chance to live this life, and you don’t want to waste it. Living in the moment allows you to become a participant in life rather than a bystander waiting for the next event. You’re relating to the physical world around you, and you’re starting to enjoy it more. You also pay more attention to your own thoughts, which helps you become more focused.

Too frequently, we find ourselves reminiscing about the past, longing for things to be different, or planning for the future. It’s crucial to appreciate what’s going on all around you at the time it’s happening. Keep in mind that the present is a gift. So take advantage of it!

It won’t be long until you and everyone around you realize you’re finally living your best life by implementing these small changes to your everyday routines!
